Each room in our boutique guesthouse, Villa Sing Ken Ken, has a unique character. The rooms have been designed to capture the colour and magic of their surroundings overlooking a panorama of ancient rice fields and the steep, wooded mountains which encircle the beautiful Sidemen Valley.
The Rice View Room has sweeping views across the green on green rice terraces. Rice is farmed in the traditional manner on all the neighbouring properties and the rice fields have been reinstated on our property, on the land below the villa just above the Tukad Unda River.
Not surprisingly, green is the theme for the Rice View room; the queen size bed, bedside tables and credenza all feature green distressed paint finishes. As well there is a timber desk and large wardrobe. The room has a window to the west overlooking the rice terraces on the far side of the river and sliding doors to the verandah which is a perfect place to watch the sun go down behind the mountains while sipping a freshly-made fruit drink or glass of wine.
The room features a large ensuite bathroom with a modern, tiled finish and contemporary amenities, free wifi, television and DVD player, ceiling fan and air conditioning, crisp white bedlinen and sheer block-out curtains for privacy. Floors are tiled and the ceilings are high with the exception of the bathroom where the structural beams and thatch of the traditional alang alang roof form a cathedral like space soaring high above.
In the dining area on the ground floor, you will find tea and coffee-making facilities and a refrigerator offering soft drinks, beer and wine.
The room tariff includes one night’s accommodation with complimentary breakfast served on the outdoor dining terrace as well as afternoon tea with traditional Balinese cakes, and your choice of tea or Bali coffee.
